Mariana Pereira Carvalho is a Boston-based writer, computer scientist, feminist, and Latina immigrant. Since 2022, she has been developing her writing skills through courses and mentoring in creative writing, poetry, and personal essays in Brazil and US, and most recently with GrubStreet, a writing community and organization in Boston, MA. Previously, Mariana worked in corporate technology, publishing two technical books and one book on gender equity in technology.
She lives in Boston with her partner and their 5-year-old golden retriever. She is a full-time writer and researcher. In her free time, Mariana paints watercolor, goes for hikes in New England, travels, and visits her family in Brazil, where she is originally from.
She is currently working on her debut poetry collection, the endless migration, exploring themes of
immigration, separation, identity, and rebirth.
